Housing price rises in Turkey

The house price index increased by 11.51 per cent in Turkey in November 2012 compared to the same month of 2011, reaching 127.4 points, a report of the Turkish Central Bank said on Wednesday.
In November, the house price index in Turkey rose by 0.58 per cent compared to the previous month in 2012.
On average, housing prices rose in Istanbul in November, to 1.781.5 lira per square metre compared to 1.028.5 lira for the same month in 2011.
In November, prices in Turkish other major cities, Ankara and Izmir amounted to an average of 1.065.6 lira and 1.282 lira, respectively.
The official exchange rate is 1, 7509 TRY/USD on Feb. 6.
