It is possible to increase productivity on such high-pressure fields as Umid and Bulla by using the drilling rigs of new generation, Ramin Isayev, General Director of SOCAR-AQS said.

Isayev, who made a speech at the 22nd international Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference in Baku on June 4, told its participants about the modern equipment, new technologies, standards and approach introduced by SOCAR-AQS on Shallow Water Gunashli Field, and the success made as a result of this introduction.

“Umid and Bulla fields differ from the previous ones by their high formation pressure. Besides, the wells on these fields are deep, well design is complicated, and there is only a slight difference between the frac pressure and pore pressure. Such types of field require that not only new equipment is used there, but also experienced and competent personnel is involved, who are able to operate this equipment,” he noted.

In conclusion, Isayev invited international oil companies for cooperation in the area of conduction of drilling works on large depths with deep-lying formations, and increase of the oil recovery factor from the brownfield layers.

The 22nd international Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference, which took place in Baku on June 3-4, 2015, is the largest event in the energy sector of the Caspian region. More than 500 representatives from 30 countries attended this conference, thus, attaching great importance to it both by the specialists, and by the whole oil and gas industry.

SOCAR-AQS was the bronze sponsor of the event.

SOCAR-AQS LLC was established in 2007 between Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR and Absheron Drilling Company. The main scope of activities of the company is provision of work and services related with drilling of oil and gas wells.

Currently, SOCAR-AQS implements integrated drilling projects in Shallow Water Gunashli, Umid, West Absheron and Bulla Deniz fields.

The company has been a contractor member of IADC since 2009. SOCAR-AQS has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 international standards for Provision of Integrated Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling and Well Services; Casing Running Services and BOP and Wellhead Equipment Repairing and Testing Services.
