SOCAR-AQS LLC, an integrated drilling and well services management company in Azerbaijan, has attended the 21st Caspian International Oil & Gas Exhibition.

The event, which was coincided with the 20th anniversary of the 'Contract of the Century', went with great interest, SOCAR-AQS said on June 7.

During the exhibition, SOCAR-AQS, which already has a 4-year experience in carrying out the oil and gas activities, shared its achievements and success gained for the short time in the field of drilling operations with other participants of the exhibition.

The activities of SOCAR-AQS were represented this year at the 'Meet the Buyer' pavilion. The participants and guests of the exhibition met with the services offered by the company, and also with the company's technical and economic indicators in drilling.

Special attention of the participants and guests of the exhibition was aroused in the achievements of SOCAR-AQS, as the first national company, in drilling of the first horizontal well on Shallow Water Gunashli Field, a success that made a significant contribution to Azerbaijan's oil industry.

General Director of SOCAR-AQS, Ramin Isayev, who made a speech at the conference, spoke about a large contribution of Azerbaijan into the world oil industry and about importance for conducting such types of events in Baku.

He also informed the participants about introduction on Shallow Water Gunashli of the modern equipment, new technologies, standards and approaches.

Isayev familiarized the participants of the conference about the achievements of SOCAR-AQS, as the first national company, in drilling of the first horizontal well in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, and invited foreign companies to the partnership cooperation.

In conclusion of his speech, Isayev mentioned the enormous reserves of hydrocarbons of the Caspian Region, and encouraged potential partners to mutual cooperation in the area of creation and implementation of new technologies and methods of work, with the aim to increase the capacity of mature fields and development of new ones.

Azerbaijan's capital Baku hosted the 21st Caspian International Oil & Gas Exhibition on June 3-6. Some 402 companies from 29 countries presented their products and services at the exhibition. Famous companies from around the world attended the exhibition. Over 500 delegates from more than 30 countries took part in the annual conference.

SOCAR-AQS LLC was established between SOCAR and Absheron Drilling Company in 2007. The main scope of the company's activities is the provision of work and services related to drilling oil and gas wells.

SOCAR-AQS is currently performing drilling works with three rigs located on two stationary platforms on Shallow Water Gunashli field. SOCAR-AQS is also operating with one drilling rig under a contract with Bahar Energy Operation Company.

SOCAR-AQS continues to prepare for drilling on Umid and Western Absheron fields.

The company has been a contractor member of IADC since 2009. SOCAR-AQS has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007 international standards for Provision of Integrated Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling and Well Services, Casing Running Services, and BOP and Wellhead Equipment Repairing and Testing Services.

SOCAR-AQS is in the process of obtaining API Q Plus certification.
