Radiation level monitoring conducted onshore in Baku
The Ecology Department of Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR together with the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences has conducted the monitoring of a radiation background in the area of the Bibieybatneft oil and gas administration.
The department reported that measuring operations were conducted in the areas of units and equipment where re-cultivation was fully completed. The measurements showed a low level of radiation which corresponds to the natural index.
SOCAR includes Azneft (onshore and offshore oil and gas production), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations, as well as a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations.
