Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated DOST Centre No.4 of the Sustainable and Operative Social Security Agency under the Labor and Social Protection Ministry in Baku's Binagadi district, Azertag has reported.
The head of the state familiarized himself with the conditions created at the centre.
DOST Centre No 4 of the agency, which was established at First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva’s initiative under President Ilham Aliyev’s decree in 2018 under the auspices of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, will provide a total of 132 services, including pensions, social insurance, social work, disability, work and employment, marriage, banking, notaries and medical social expertise.
Labor and Social Protection Minister Sahil Babayev informed President Aliyev about the work done at the centre.
Babayev noted that the centre, which allows citizens to get offered completely transparent, simple and accessible procedures through the "single window" system, is forming the country’s new brand in this area. He added that significant measures had been taken in the past to further improve the population’s social security.
At the centre, more than 230 employees, as well as 50 volunteers under the Volunteer DOST program will receive an average of 800 citizens per day. The majority of employees at the centre are young people. This helps identify internal intellectual resources and plays an exceptional role in the high quality of services to be provided.
The call centre to operate as part of the DOST Centre enables the reception of up to 5,000 calls a day across the country. ART School will allow an average of 150-200 people with disabilities to be trained annually.
It was noted that the satisfaction rate of more than 330,000 people serving in DOST centres made up so far 97.2 percent.
The minister, who spoke about the future plans, said that the next DOST Centre will open in Absheron in the near future, and the relevant work is underway in Guba, Sabirabad, Ganja and Sumgayit. A total of 16 regional centres are planned to be established.
He added that one of the important priorities in this area is related to the liberated territories. He stressed that under the presidential instructions, work has already begun on the establishment of a DOST Centre in Shusha, Nagorno-Karabakh.
Babayev also briefed Aliyev on the development of the social security system in the country. He said that over the past period across the country, social payments alone increased by AZN 1.8 billion. He noted that pension payments increased by 36 percent and benefits by 120 percent.
“This, of course, had a very serious impact on the average monthly figures. Azerbaijan is one of the few countries where the average pension has increased by 60 percent in just three years. Under your order, we continue our active work with the war veterans in the post-war period. We have already provided more than 20,000 individuals with social benefits, psychological support and rehabilitation. We have already supplied 1,200 rehabilitation aids to these people. Our employment programs involve 3,700 people,” he said.
