Azerbaijan to carry technical service for AW139

Silk Way Helicopter Services will carry out maintenance of helicopters AW139 operating in the Caspian Sea, Central Asia and the Middle East, local media reports.
The AW139 is the market-leading intermediate twin-engine helicopter the benchmark for safety design features, performance capabilities and productivity in challenging multi-role operations all over the world.
Negotiations with the Anglo-Italian helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland are underway. Silk Way Helicopter Services will be able to do maintenance of helicopters after reaching the agreement and acquiring the necessary certification.
Acquiring new AW139 helicopters by company within three years contributed to the emergence of new projects, in particular, the idea of creating a service center AgustaWestland in the region.
"Seventeen vehicles of the manufacturer are operating in Azerbaijan and neighboring countries, and their number will grow," it was reported.
Silk Way Helicopter Services is the largest airlines in Azerbaijan operating in the field of small aviation. The newly established company (2008) has already attained remarkable achievements. Silk Way Helicopter Services is a part of the Silk Way Group holding.
The company aims to ensure Flight Safety rather than to have economic profit. A great importance is attached to improvement of company’s personnel professional skills.
