Despite EU sanctions, Iran exported 1.57 million tons of gas and
petrochemical products worth 1.3 billion dollars in the 9th
calendar month of Azar (November 21-December 20), Trend news agency

During the mentioned period, Iran exported 1,030,000 tons of gas

The country, which sits on the world's second largest natural gas
reserves after Russia, has been trying to enhance its gas
production by increasing foreign and domestic investments,
especially in its South Pars gas field.
South Pars is part of a wider gas field that is shared with Qatar.
The field covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square
kilometers of which are in Iran's territorial waters in the Persian
Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, referred to as the
North Dome, are in Qatar's territorial waters.
