Turkmenistan, Tunisia mull prospects for trade, economic co-op

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov was received by Tunisian President Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the development of relations in the trade and economic sphere.
The head of Tunisia offered to organize visits of government and ministerial delegations, and also initiated the creation of a joint working group to expand bilateral cooperation, the ministry said.
Meredov also held talks with his counterpart from Tunisia Khemaies Jhinaoui, during which the Turkmen foreign minister discussed issues relating to the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural spheres.
As a result, a memorandum on political consultations and cooperation was signed between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Tunisia Diplomatic Institute for Training and Studies.
The delegation of Turkmenistan also met with Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation of Tunisian Republic Ziad Al Azari. The parties stated that there are ample opportunities for the implementation of relations in such areas as investment activity, industrialization, trade and agriculture.
An agreement was reached on the development of a legal framework regulating relations between the two countries in the investment and tax spheres.
