Switzerland considers Azerbaijan as partner country
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland Akram has met President of the Swiss National Council Ruedi Lustenberger, AzerTag state news agency reported.
The sides praised the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries, and stressed the necessity of developing political, economic, humanitarian and cultural cooperation.
Zeynalli stressed the role of legislative bodies in developing the Azerbaijani-Swiss relations. He also highlighted the activity of friendship groups in both countries` parliaments.
He said members of the Friendship Group in Azerbaijan`s Parliament will visit Switzerland this March.
The diplomat noted the importance of reciprocal visits of the two countries` parliament speakers.
Lustenberger stressed the importance of the fact that President Ilham Aliyev regularly attends the World Economic Forum, adding these visits contributed to continuing political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
He said Switzerland considered Azerbaijan as a friendly and partner country, and hailed bilateral relations as "steadily developing".
They also exchanged views on the current state of talks to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
