International Geological and Mining Forum starts in Baku

Read moreThe International Geological and Mining Forum, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev has started its work in Baku.
The forum was organized by the State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources and Geological Exploration, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, AzerGold CJSC, and the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration of Turkiye, Azernews reports.
At first, a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the national leader and the heroes who fell for our territorial integrity. Then a video clip showing the activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the mining sector was shown.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Chairman of the Committee of Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology of Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sadig Gurbanov, Director General of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Ministry of Science and Education Akif Alizade, Chairman of the Board of the authorized institution of the Free Economic Zone "Alat" Valeh Aleskerov, Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibrahimov, UN Resident Coordinator Vladanka Andreeva, UNDP Resident Representative Alessandra Roccasalvo, and Chairman of the Turkish Mining and Petroleum Agency Arslan Narin, head of the State Mining and Technical Research Company of Turkiye Vedat Yanık, Azerbaijan Chairman of the Board of the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samaddin Asadov - Azerkosmos will make a speech. made speeches at the official part of the Forum.
It should be noted that 70 experts from about 30 countries, including representatives of the public sector, scientists, investors, and private mining companies are taking part in the International Geological and Mining Forum organized for the first time in Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the two-day Forum, 4-panel sessions on "The role of mining in the international supply chain and the place of the mining industry in Azerbaijan", "Application of new technologies and methodologies in geology and mining", "Geo-ecological problems" and environmental protection in the mining industry" will be held on the theme "Accountability and investment trends in geology and mining".
