Germany invited to join Caspian Sea energy cable project
Germany has been invited to participate in the construction of an energy cable under the Caspian Sea, a project currently being implemented by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, Azernews reports.
The President of Kazakhstan, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, made this proposal during a meeting of Central Asian leaders with Germany in Astana.
“Our country, together with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, is working on a project to build a line for the transmission of 'green energy' through the bottom of the Caspian Sea and then to European countries. We suggest to our German partners to consider the possibility of participation in this strategic project,” he stated.
