The opening and closing ceremonies of the First European Games were impressive, the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta told reporters on June 30.
The ambassador said he watched the competitions held at Baku 2015, adding that everything was organized at a high level.
Cekuta said he was especially impressed by the work of the volunteers, adding that they did a great work and excellently represented their country.
The diplomat added that he also visited the Athletes Village and liked how the representatives of various countries communicate with each other and taste Azerbaijani cuisine.
The First European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and wrapped up June 28. The Games hosted 20 sports – 16 Olympic and four non-Olympic sports. Over 6,000 athletes represented the European countries at Baku 2015.
