Uzbek president to visit Kazakhstan in March

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev plans to pay the first
state visit as head of state to Kazakhstan in March, said Uzbek
First Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov.
He made the remarks at a meeting of the joint intergovernmental
commission on the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan cooperation held in
Tashkent on February 23.
Ramatov said the intergovernmental commission meeting is being
considered as “an important preparatory event to elaborate joint
practical measures to fill the agenda of forthcoming high-level
meetings with specific and important mutually beneficial
projects.”
At the meeting, the Kazakh delegation was headed by First Deputy
Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
The Kazakh diplomatic mission in Tashkent said it is planned to
discuss the bilateral strategic partnership and its further
activization, trade, economic, transportation and logistics
cooperation, etc. as part of the visit.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amounted to more
than $2 billion in 2016.
