Georgia to receive 27 million euro from EU

Georgia will receive additional 27 million euro within the framework of the European Union's new initiative "More for more".

The State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Alex Petriashvili and Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia Philip Dimitrov signed the agreement on the provision of finance on December 26.

Dimitrov said 20 million euro, as the budget support, will be directed to the state budget and 7 million euro will be used for the implementation of Technical Assistance projects.

The programme will last five years and directed to strengthen professional training for improvement job skills of citizens, involvement of women in the labor market.

Additional funds within the Eastern Partnership Integration and Cooperation (EaPIC) programme that was launched in 2012 are allocated for those Eastern Partnership countries, which implement more reforms from the point of view of democracy.

As part of this program Moldova received 35 million euros ($48 million) and Armenia got 25 million euros ($34 million).
