Kazakh MPs to hold meetings in U.S.

A delegation of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, headed by deputy chairman Alexander Sudin, will pay a working visit to Washington and New York on May 6-10, the Kazakh Senate said on Monday.

The visit will take place to strengthen the Kazakh-U.S inter-parliamentary relations, as well as within the decade of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, convened at the initiative of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2003.

Kazakh Senators Alexander Sudin, Serik Akylbay and Husain Valiev plan to meet with parliamentarians and representatives of the U.S. State Department.

The senators will open a photo exhibition dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Washington.

The delegation will meet with U.S religious leaders and the UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser in New York.
