Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Monday that military officials were following and controlling each phase of the deployment of NATO's Patriot air defense system in the country, Trend news agency reported referring to Anadolu agency.

The ministry recalled that NATO foreign ministers, during a meeting on December 4, agreed to send Patriots from the U.S., Germany and the Netherlands to Turkey within the scope of alleviating the crisis along Turkish-Syrian border and defending Turkish people and soil.

The ministry stressed that the Patriots were completely for defensive means.

Patriots from Germany will be installed in Kahramanmaras, from Netherlands in Adana and from U.S. in Gaziantep city, the ministry added.
