Arab envoys back Turkish PM's criticism of UNSC structure

Ambassadors of Arab countries in Ankara have supported the statements of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who said he was against the UN Security Council's "Permanent" and "Non-permanent" membership differentiation, Anadolu Agency reported.

The head of the Turkey Mission of the Arab League in Ankara, Mohammad al-Fatih Najiri stressed that after the occupation of Iraq, UN was damaged and said, "UN has to reassess Security Council. In this framework, we agree with Turkish PM hundred percent with what he said about changes in the UN. We will go to UN together and stand up for it. We will be the defenders of this argument."
Palestinian Ambassador in Ankara Nabil Maarouf noted that Erdogan's statement referring the permanent membership of UNSC was mentioned by many countries.
Kuwait's Ambassador in Ankara Abdullah Abdulaziz El-Duveyk expressed his point of view that UN and Security Council had to be reviewed seriously.
Ambassador of Egypt in Ankara Abderahman Salaheldin stressed that the matter of UNSC had to be sorted as soon as possible.
Furthermore, Ersat Hurzumlu, chief advisor of Middle East to Turkish President Abdullah Gul, noted that Erdogan touched an accurate topic and added that all countries were aware of the situation.
