Over 450 UXOs defused in Azerbaijan

About 2,720,633 square metres of land were inspected and cleared of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Azerbaijan in December, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) reported.
Some 456 UXOs and four anti-tank mines were defused in the
country during this period.
Some 484 sappers, 118 assistants, six mechanical mine clearing
machines and 36 mine-detection dogs are involved in mine clearing
operations.
As much as 246,553,979 square metres of land have been cleared of mines so far and the number of defused landmines and UXOs amounted to 688,210.
ANAMA continues its operations in the Agdam, Agjabadi, Agstafa, Fizuli, Shamkir and Tartar regions as well as in the Guzdak settlement of Baku city's Garadagh district.
