Sri Lanka keen on establishing JVs with Azerbaijan

Sri Lankan entrepreneurs intend to establish joint ventures with their Azerbaijani colleagues.

The news was announced by Azerbaijan's Economy and Industry Ministry on October 30.

Sri Lankan businessmen offer cooperation in such fields as agriculture, industrial production, metallurgy, logistics and human resources.

They are also interested in export and import of various kinds of goods and products, investments and establishing joint ventures.

Sri Lanka recognized Azerbaijan's independence on February 12, 1992. The diplomatic relations between two countries were established on August 4, 1992.

Trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $11.4 million in January-September 2014, which is 7.5 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

This figure was equal to $13 million in 2012.
