Iran's interior minister promises fair presidential election
Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar promised that
the upcoming presidential election will be a fair election.
No party can influence the process of election, Fars news agency
quoted Mohammad Najjar as saying.
He made the remarks during Tehran's Friday Prayer.
Mohammad Najjar further said that all of the elections after the
Islamic revolution were fair.
Next Friday the whole world will be watching Iranian nation's
participation in the election, he said.
Iran will hold the 11th presidential election on June 14.
The voters will select the successor of the current President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is not able to participate in the
elections for the third term according to the country's
constitutional laws.
The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national
election. The Guardian Council has vetted the candidates for
qualifications.
