Baku will host the quarterfinals and three group games of the UEFA EURO 2020, UEFA reports at its ceremony in Geneva on September 19.

Azerbaijan's capital will be one of the 13 host cities of the European Football Championship in 2020, and along with Munich, Rome and Saint Petersburg will host quarterfinals and three group games each.

London will host semi-finals and final games of the EURO.

The UEFA Executive Committee decided to change the tradition and hold the tournament in several European countries at once in December 2012. Such changes are associated with the celebrations on the 60th anniversary since the first European Football Championship.

The staging of UEFA EURO 2020 across Europe promises to provide a memorable football festival throughout the continent - and give some countries and cities the potential opportunity to be part of a tournament they may otherwise not be able to host.

Nineteen cities across the globe including Baku competed for hosting matches of UEFA EURO 2020.

The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship will be the 16th European Championship for national football teams organized by UEFA, held during the middle of 2020.

The winners will earn the right to participate in the 2021 FIFA Confederations Cup hosted by Qatar.
