Azerbaijani gymnasts conquer European Championship audience

The 31st European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics was held in Minsk on May 3.
Ayshan Bayramova and Marina Durunda, two Azerbaijani gymnasts represented the country with individual programs. The junior team composed of Zuleykha Ismayilova, Simara Jafarova, Fatima Jafarova, Ilaha Mammadova and Daria Sorokina also took part in the competition in group exercises.
On the final day of competition Marina Durunda performed in two finals - with ribbon and clubs. Her graceful performance with ribbon brought her third place and the title of bronze medalist at the European Championship. Performing with a band in the finals, she received a score of 18 points.
Marina won the fifth place in an exercise with clubs.
Another Azerbaijani gymnast, who attended such high level competition for the first time won 16th place.
Equally spectacular was the performance of our junior team in the group exercises. The audience gave the young team of gymnasts a standing ovation following their performance with five balls.
Performing their exercise under the incendiary song "Smooth Criminal" by the legendary Michael Jackson, the gymnasts amazed their audience, keeping everyone captivated by their high energy and skills.
The junior team reached the final ranking fourth, and finished one step away from the podium and the bronze medal in the final.
