EIB interested in new projects in Georgia

Georgian Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Davit Shavliashvili met with representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

They discussed future cooperation prospects. EIB will help Georgia, which signed an association agreement with the EU, in all areas that contribute to the country's approximation to European standards, the ministry said.

The bank is interested in the implementation of several new projects in Georgia, namely, the introduction of security measures in the tourist areas, water supply project in Kutaisi and the construction of Rikoti highway section.

Shavliashvili expressed willingness for future cooperation and stressed the fruitful relations with the bank.

Moreover, EIB plans to open an office in Tbilisi in the near future for more coordinated cooperation with the Georgian side.
