The Azerbaijani defense ministry has rejected Armenian media reports over the alleged murder of two Azerbaijani soldiers.

The defense ministry told Trend on August that 28 that information by Armenia’s online media outlets that two Azerbaijani servicemen were killed contradicts the reality.

"Armenian servicemen and their leadership are so frightened that "saboteurs" seem to be everywhere to them."

"According to our data, two Armenian soldiers were killed and several wounded in a shootout that took place among the Armenian militaries," the ministry said.

The Azerbaijani armed forces have not suffered any losses over the past 24 hours.

The Armenian military did, however, over the past 24 hours violated ceasefire 125 times along various parts of the contact line.

The ceasefire breaches by the Armenian armed forces had reached 160-170 times some days in the most recent wave of attacks.

Armenia and Azerbaijan fought a lengthy war that ended with the signing of a fragile ceasefire in 1994. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities. Since the war, the Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions.

Armenia continues the occupation in defiance of four UN Security Council resolutions calling for immediate and unconditional withdrawal of armed forces.

Peace talks brokered by mediators from Russia, France and the U.S. have produced no results so far.
