The worldwide famous exhibition styled “Grace Kelly, the Princess and Style” Icon enjoying a great deal of popularity among visitors has been launched at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva and Albert II, Prince of Monaco, the son of Grace Kelly, attended the opening of the exhibition, AzerTac state news agency reported.

Mehriban Aliyeva and Albert II cut the ribbon symbolizing the inauguration of the exhibition.

Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughters Leyla and Arzu and Albert II, Prince of Monaco viewed the exhibition.

It features a renowned Hollywood actress and the Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly (1929-1982). The exhibits are tracing Grace Kelly’s stage career along with the period of her being the Monaco Princess after marrying Prince Rainier III.

The display presents Grace Kelly’s attire, jewellery, letters, photographs and other paraphernalia. The number of personal effects presented to the audience exceeds 200. The whole event will be remembered as the first of its kind ever hosted by the Heydar Aliyev Center. Notably, the Center will be the first place to demonstrate Grace Kelly’s motor vehicles. One of them, a 1952 Taxi Austin, was the Princess’ favorite car to drive her kids.

A noteworthy detail is that the Grace Kelly, Princess and Style Icon show, initially launched in Monaco back in 2007, was attended by over 135 thousand visitors. In later years, the display was held in Paris, Moscow, Rome, Sao Paulo , Toronto, Bendigo, Astana, Montreal, Doylestown and Apeldoorn.

Grace Kelly was a true Hollywood star. Her filmography comprises 11 movies, including High Noon (1952) co-starring with Gary Cooper. The favorite actress of Alfred Hitchcock, she starred in Mogambo (1953), Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief (1955). An Oscar winner for The Country Girl, Grace Kelly was a twice Golden Globe winner.

Meeting Prince of Monaco Rainier III during the Cannes Festival in 1955 changed Grace Kelly’s life once and forever. With their marriage a year after, the career of a movie star was over giving place to the family, three children, public activities and philanthropy. Nonetheless, both as an actress and the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly was remembered for a very exquisite dressing style and immaculate taste. A tragic road accident in 1982 put an end to the life of this truly outstanding person.

Open to the public as of June 13, the exhibition will run until November 1.
