Algeria opens diplomatic representation in Baku

Diplomatic representation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria has opened in Azerbaijan.
Charge d’Affaires a.i Abbes Benmoussat was received at the State Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry, the ministry reported on January 22.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani president has signed a decree on the establishment of the country's embassy in Algeria.
Azerbaijan-Algeria relations are successfully developing, and both countries cooperate effectively within a variety of international organizations. There are good opportunities for development of bilateral relationship in all spheres in the future.
People's Democratic Republic of Algeria recognized independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 20, 1991. Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria were established on April 22, 1994.
