SOCAR comissions well at Guneshli field after overhaul
Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR has put into operation the well No. 122 on the third platform at Guneshli field after overhaul, said the message posted on the company’s official website.
The average daily production rate of the well is 48 metric tons of oil. Operational work at the well is carried out by “28 May” oil and gas extraction management.
Guneshli field plays an important role in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry. The field’s shallow part is developed by SOCAR independently, while the deepwater part – within the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block – is developed jointly with foreign partners.
SOCAR produced a total of over 8.32 million metric tons of oil in 2014, compared to 8.31 million metric tons in 2013.
In total, over 42.4 million metric tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in 2014, compared to 43.5 million metric tons in 2013.
