Azerbaijani MP to raise Khojaly airport opening in European Parliament

Azerbaijani MP Azay Guliyev will discuss in the European Parliament Armenia's attempts to putting into operation of Khojaly airport and the fact of violence to two Azerbaijani citizens on February 26 in the French National Assembly, the MP told Trend news agency.

According to the MP, he will travel to Brussels to participate in the next meeting of the committee on social issues, education, culture and civil society of the Parliamentary Assembly of Euronest, held from March 18 to 21.

On the agenda of the meeting are the obligations under the resolution of " Development of Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership" adopted at the latest meeting of Euronest PA; discussions on the draft report "Poverty and the fight against social exclusion in Eastern Europe"; the theme of gender equality as a basic EU value, etc.

Guliyev is also expected to participate in the public hearing of the Committee on Budgetary Affairs of the European Parliament entitled "Financing of the Eastern Partnership"

At the hearing participants will discuss future funding prospects of the Eastern Partnership in 2014-2020 and the problems arising in the implementation of grants allocated by the European Commission.

The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is a multilateral platform for cooperation between the European Parliament and parliaments in the EU`s eastern neighborhood. It consists of 60 MEPs and 10 MPs from each of the five eastern partner countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
