Azeri first lady elected Alexandria library’s board member

Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva has been elected an
honorary member of the Board of Trustees of the Library of
Alexandria, says a letter from the board’s chairperson, Egypt's
First Lady Suzanne Mubarak.
Mubarak noted that Aliyeva, a UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, had been elected by a unanimous decision by the board members.
The Egyptian First Lady pointed out that Aliyeva would use her high intelligence and experience to contribute to the solution of a number of issues.
The Board of Trustees is composed of the world’s most influential scholars and prominent political figures, says a statement seen by Azerbaijan’s state-run AzerTAj news agency.
The library is an Egyptian institution with international mandate, which is directly attached to the President.*
