The Lankaran City Cultural Center in southern Azerbaijan has hosted a folk festival.

The key objective of the second "Lankaran Payizi" (Fall in Lankaran) festival is to improve folklore, to preserve and further develop intangible cultural heritage, to enhance protection and development of folk art, promote folk creativity among young people, and organize pleasant pastime for the people.

Some folk bands, performers and dance groups participated at the festival, which started to be held last year.

Unlike the first festival, Talish folklore was mostly performed at the festival. Thus, a peculiar repertoire of the "Neneler" folk band was of great interest to the audience.

The festival was conducted in the nominations of Folk Songs, Folk Dances, Folk Games and Folk Musical Instruments.

Lankaran city authorities awarded the winning folk groups with valuable prizes.
