A seminar "Integration of children and youth with disabilities through sport" was held in the Surakhani Youth House in Baku.

The event was organized by the Public Association "Integration of children and youth with disabilities through sport" with the financial support of the Council of State Support for NGOs under the President of Azerbaijan, said Aynur Mammadova, the leader of the association, three-time world champion and two-time European para-taekwondo champion.

About forty representatives of various organizations and specialists took part in the event, Trend life reported.

The seminar was hosted by teacher of Khazar University, psychologist Kamal Aliyev.

The project aims to development of adaptive physical culture and sports among disabled people and persons with disabilities, promotion of the Paralympic movement as one of the most effective means of rehabilitation and social adaptation.

Aynur Mammadova and participant of the Paralympic Games-2016 in Rio, Rufat Rafiev noted the importance of the project and shared their experience.

They noted that physical culture and sports are one of the most important areas for the rehabilitation of disabled people and their integration in society. The employment of disabled people in physical education and sports in many cases can be viewed not only as a means of rehabilitation, but also as a permanent form of vital activity - social employment and achievements.

The seminar will also be held in Baku`s Sabunchu and Binagadi districts.
