Azerbaijan, Moldova mull cultural ties
Gunay Efendiyeva, the Secretary General of the National
Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO has met Culture and Tourism
Minister of Moldova Monica Babuc in Chisinau.
The sides discussed ways of developing relations between Azerbaijan
and Moldova, particularly cooperation in the field of culture.
Babuc thanked the Azerbaijani government for supporting the
projects implemented between the national commissions.
She hailed Azerbaijan`s rich cultural heritage and the country`s achievements in the field of intercultural dialogue.
The minister said this development expanded opportunities for
cooperation between the two countries.
They also praised the organization of the Days of Moldovan culture
in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan`s Culture Days in Moldova over the
last years.
Babuc stressed the role of Azerbaijan`s Embassy in holding such
events, adding Moldova was interested in developing cultural
relations with Azerbaijan.
Efendiyeva, in turn, highlighted development in various areas in
Azerbaijan, and large-scale international projects initiated by
President Ilham Aliyev.
She said Azerbaijan has successfully hosted Baku international
humanitarian and World Intercultural Dialogue forums over the last
years.
Efendiyeva said the activity of President of the Heydar Aliyev
Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has won high praise both in Azerbaijan
and abroad.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moldova Namig Aliyev was also present at
the meeting, AzerTac state news agency reported.
