Presentation of book devoted to academician Zarifa Aliyeva held in Copenhagen

Copenhagen hosted the International Forum of the World Health Organization, dedicated to the problem of resistance to antimicrobial drugs, on February 24-27.

The presentation of the book called “Basic Infection Control”, devoted to outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also held as part of the event, AzerTac state news agency reported.

The author of the book is Aydin Salmanov, Head of the International Science and Medical Center named after Zarifa Aliyeva in Kiev. Representatives from the U.S., Europe and some CIS countries worked on the book.

Salmanov has already penned 220 scientific work, as well as 10 monographs, three textbooks and one book for medical students. He is also an author of three Ukrainian medical laws.

Addressing the event, Salmanov said that some copies of the book were presented to the World Health Organization’s library.

The book was also warmly welcomed by doctor Danilo Lo Fo Wong, the enior advisor in antimicrobial resistance, WHO Regional Office for Europe.

He highly appreciated the book, saying that it will be recommended to European countries.

The book has important scientific and practical information about the infectious safety of patients and how to ensure optimal conditions for the provision of quality health care, as well as risk management in the implementation of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

The book is designed for health organizers and managers, doctors of different specialties, pharmacists, epidemiologists, as well as teachers and students of higher medical educational institutions of I-IV levels.
