Hassan Rouhani arrives in Baku

President of Iran Hassan Rouhani arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit on November 12.
The Iranian president was welcomed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yaqub Eyyubov and other officials.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has met the Iranian delegation headed by Rouhani on the same day.
The two countries are expected to sign ten documents on the development of cooperation in power industry, simplification of customs procedures, transportation, tourism, and trade sectors.
The relations between neighboring countries, Azerbaijan and Iran, with a long history of bilateral ties and cooperation have recently risen to a higher level.
Azerbaijan and Iran have had diplomatic relations since 1918. Iran recognized Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992.
