The third general census of population started in Azerbaijan on October 1, Trend reports.

In terms of demographic development, Azerbaijan has become a leading country not only in the CIS area but also among most of the European countries.

The population of the Transcaucasian republics is constantly increasing. Azerbaijan has the highest growth rates.

Population of Azerbaijan continues to register growth. The State Statistics Committee of the country reported that there is an increase in the number of population of the country.

Azerbaijan is the most dynamic nation in the South Caucasus in terms of demographic development.

Downward trend in population growth is being observed in Georgia, the country’s Population Census and Demography Service said.
