Preps for European Games are in full swing in Baku
Preparations for the first European Games are in full swing in Azerbaijan's capital Baku.
The state of sport facilities built in 70s and 80s is being explored for future reconstruction, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov told journalists.
The minister noted the sports to be featured in the program of Olympic Games will be known on March 15-20. He added the program is expected to include two non-Olympic sports.
Rahimov said the working group of the European Games Organizing Committee has formed, and foreign specialists were invited to this end.
The minister said the construction of the state-of-the-art swimming pool, Olympic stadium and gymnastics complex is going on in Baku.
Rahimov pointed out that construction of the Olympic village is not scheduled.
