Azerbaijani boxer Nabi Iskandarov has secured a victory in his opening match at the 2026 World Boxing Cup in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, AzerNEWS reports.

Competing in the 70 kg weight category, Nabi Iskandarov defeated Necat Ekinci (Turkiye) with a 3-2 scoreline.

He will next face Murodjon Ashuraliyev (Tajikistan) in the Round of 16.
