KazMunaiGas, Schlumberger agree on coop
The Kazakh National Oil and Gas company KazMunaiGas (KMG) and the international company Schlumberger Logelco Inc. signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation during the 21st 'KIOGE-2013' Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition in Almaty, Kazakhstan Today reported.
Under the document, the parties will cooperate in the assessment and production optimisation at KazMunaiGas fields and in exploration, exploitation and production. Moreover, KazMunaiGas' specialists will have hands-on experience and training in Schlumberger training centres.
KazMunaiGas Deputy Chairman Kurmangazi Iskaziev said the memorandum will allow the Kazakh firm to implement all the innovative technologies of the world, including high quality drilling, overhaul and well logging.
"This technology will allow us to extract oil from our fields," Iskaziev said.
