We expect any provocation from Armenian MPs: Azerbaijani MP

By Sara Rajabova
If Armenian MPs try to commit provocative acts during the 23rd summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, they will get a worthy reply, Azerbaijani MP Fazail Agamali told Trend news agency.
The summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE will be held in Baku on June 28-July 2.
"We expect any act of provocation from Armenian MPs, as provocation is in their genetic code. That is why we must prepare ourselves for taking appropriate steps," Agamali said.
He noted that during the 86th Rose Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Baku on June 16-18, Azerbaijani MPs demonstrated a civil and principled position by briefing the participants on the current situation between two sides based on specific facts.
Agamali said this played a major role in exposing the Armenians' real nature before the European MPs.
Agamali said if Armenian MPs decide to take part in the summer session of the OSCE PA in Baku, their security will be guaranteed.
"Armenians are invaders. They commit genocide and terrorist actions against the Azerbaijani people. We say this fact loudly in front of the foreign politicians. This is an important opportunity for exposing Armenians' real nature. And if the Armenian MPs try to commit provocative acts during the session, they will get a harsh answer. Azerbaijani MPs and politicians are more educated than the Armenians, at the same time the objectivity increases our efforts," Agamali said.
Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s. Long-standing efforts by U.S, Russian and French mediators have been largely fruitless so far.
As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, 4,866 are reported missing, almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.
The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions calling on Armenia to withdraw its forces from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
