Some 7.9 percent of the Azerbaijani electors voted in the polling station dislocated in Beijing at 10.00 a.m. local time to elect country's president, a precinct election commission reported.

According to the report, 22 Azerbaijani citizens, whose names are in the list of voters, have used their right of voting and no violations of the law were observed.

Azerbaijani citizens living in Turkey are voting in two polling stations set up in Ankara and Istanbul, the Azerbaijani embassy in Turkey reported.

According to the diplomatic mission, 636 citizens of Azerbaijan have been registered at the embassy's consulate service.

Azerbaijani citizens living in Georgia are voting at the polling station established at the country's embassy in Tbilisi, which is open from 8:00 a.m. until 19:00 p.m.

Presidential elections in Azerbaijan are being held on October 9. This year ten candidates are competing for the top job, including chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, President Ilham Aliyev, Umid Party leader Igbal Aghazade, self-nominated candidate Zahid Oruj, chairman of the United Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Modern Musavat party leader Hafiz Hajiyev, Azerbaijan Social Democratic Party chairman Araz Alizade, National Revival Party leader Faraj Guliyev, chairman of the Adalat (Justice) party Ilyas Ismayilov, Jamil Hasanli from the opposition National Council as well as chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloghlu.
