Aliyev signs orders to deprive writer Aylisli of presidential pension and honorary title
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed on Thursday an order
depriving writer Akram Aylisli of presidential pension, AzerTac
state news agency reported.
The order was signed given the numerous appeals of the public, as
well as compatriots, who became refugees and IDPs as a result of
the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The document orders to cancel a point "Naibov Akram Najaf oglu" of
the first part of Azerbaijani President's order No.942 "On
assigning personal pension of President of Azerbaijan" dated June
11, 2002.
By another presidential order, Akram Aylisli, who purposefully
distorted Azerbaijani history with his work full of slanders is
deprived of honorary title of "People's Writer" of Azerbaijan.
Akram Aylisli (Naibov Akram Najaf oglu), who received state awards
in the years of Azerbaijan's independence, in his last work
distorted the truth about the country's history in the form
inappropriate to Azerbaijani writer, betraying the people's high
confidence in him.
In this work, written by the author in a form which contradicts the
spirit of the Azerbaijani people, unfairly accusing it of acts
contrary to the system of universal values, the author attempted to
form anti-humanistic image of the Azerbaijani people, falsify the
essence of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,
denigrate far and near past history, offend the dignity of more
than a million compatriots, driven out of their native lands as a
result of the conflict.
Given the numerous appeals of state and public organizations, as
well as citizens on depriving Akram Aylisli of honorary title
"People's Writer of Azerbaijan" as a person, staining this title,
Akram Aylisli is deprived of the honorary title "People's Writer of
Azerbaijan."
Also the part "Naibov Akram Najaf oglu" of the Azerbaijani
President's decree No.708 "On assigning honorary title" People's
Writer" dated May 23, 1998, was cancelled.
