Azerbaijan’s ruling party holds board meeting
A regular board meeting of the ruling Yeni (New) Azerbaijan Party (YAP) was held in Baku on Thursday, the party's website said, Trend news agency reported.
YAP deputy chairman Ali Ahmadov noted the great successes achieved by Azerbaijan in 2012 under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
It was noted that the YAP has held a number of important events, including the seventh General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Baku which is regarded as an indicator of the YAP's international image. It was emphasized that such a high level of trust is the result of the YAP's fruitful activity as a member of the organization's standing committee.
An exchange of views on the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev also took place during the meeting. The theme of the conference to be held in connection with the anniversary of the great leader was approved.
