Azerbaijani FM meets Ukrainian counterpart in New York

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov during his visit to New York met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told Trend May 31.
The ministers expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between the two countries and the development of political dialogue.
The ministers highly appreciated the activity of the working group for the Azerbaijan-Ukraine interparliamentary relations, the Intergovernmental Joint Commission, the Council of Presidents, which is a high level consultative mechanism between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as the role of political consultations between the two foreign ministries.
The parties noted that the North-South, East-West and South-West route projects open up favorable opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the transport sphere.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed cooperation within the UN and its specialized agencies, OSCE, Council of Europe, BSEC, GUAM and other international organizations.
The sides discussed issues of expanding bilateral legal base, as well as cooperation in energy, science, education, tourism, agriculture, culture, pharmacy and other areas of mutual interest.
