Baku screened a documentary film about the hero of the Karabakh war on December 19.

The hero's comrades and military and public figures who talked about his glorious path participated in the film, Huseyn Javadzade, one of the organizers of the event, said.

"Part of the shooting was held in Karabakh. Our living legend Ibad Huseynov is a shining example for giving youths and future a lesson in patriotism. This project is dedicated not only to Ibad Huseynov, but also all the heroes and martyrs who died for Azerbaijan's freedom and independence."

Javadzade said "Qəhrəman" (Hero) will be translated into foreign languages and shown in other countries.

Serving in the Soviet army, Ibad Huseynov, the chevalier of "Azerbaijan Banner" medal and the commander of raiding and reconnaissance detachment during the Karabakh war, began a hunger strike together with other soldiers from Azerbaijan, demanding the army's release after learning about the January 1990 tragedy in which the Soviet Army entered Baku.

When he returned to Azerbaijan, he bravely fought in the Karabakh war and was seriously wounded. Ibadov killed professional terrorist Monte Melkonian, the Armenian military commander and one of the leaders of the ASALA Armenian terrorist organization, who committed dozens of terrorist attacks that led to the deaths of Turkish diplomats around the world.

Azerbaijan and Turkey have implemented several projects and shot the documentaries "Scout" and "Soldier" in honor of Ibad Huseynov.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict emerged in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Since a lengthy war in the early 1990s that displaced over one million Azerbaijanis, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions.
