Young artists' "Catalyzer" exhibition underway in Baku

A week-long contemporary art exhibition, "Catalyzer", opened at the Contemporary Art Center in the Azerbaijani capital Baku on May 6.

Organized by the Baku Creative Center, with the support of the United Artists' Club, the exhibition displays video-art works by modern artists who aim to encourage the development of fine arts in the country.

Talented young artists Novruz Mammadov, Faraj Rahmanov, Islam Hasanalizade, Erkin Alakbarli, Bahruz Kangarli, Takin Efendiyev, Habib Saher and Yunis Krilov are presenting their ambitious works.

"Catalyzer" is the ninth such exposition, organized by the Center in the frame of the Baku Galleries Festival.

Opening the exhibition, the head of the Contemporary Art Center Bahram Khalilov and Baku Creative Center head Emin Yasinov briefed attendees about the exposition.

It was also noted that the main aim of the festival is to step up activity of the art galleries, encourage unity among people of art, promote art treasures among the public, and finally, organize festivals for art lovers.

The festival, which takes place in Baku from March 4 until June 1, involves such art galleries and exhibition salons as Baku Creative Center, Baki, Khatai Miniatur Merkezi, Art Villa, Yeni Gallery, Muzey Merkezi, Kichik Qala, Yay!, LN Art, Qiz Qalası, Muasir Incesenet Merkezi, Art Group and Nar Gallery.
