The first concert of the 11th Gabala International Music Festival has been held at the Gabala Culture Center.
The festival is held from July 31 to August 5, under the organization of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the support of the Ministry of Culture and Gilan Holding, Trend Life reported.
A student symphony orchestra of the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Baku Music Academy, conducted by Javad Tagizade, performed at the concert.
The performers, including Taleh Yahyayev (vocal), Nigar Jafarova (vocal), Mahir Tagizade (vocal), Nazrin Aslanli (violin), Safura Aslanova (vocal), Mammadali Pashazade (clarinet), amazed the listeners with their skills. Each musical composition was greeted by the audience with great interest and enthusiasm.
A diverse program was prepared for the listeners, in which the works of Azerbaijani and foreign composers were performed. The audience greeted Fikrat Amirov's “Azerbaijani Capriccio” with a storm of applause.
Three fragments from “Romeo and Juliet” ballet by Sergei Prokofiev, cavatina from the “Aleko” opera by Sergei Rachmaninov, aria of Musetta from Giacomo Puccini`s "La Boheme" opera, aria of Mardan from Gara Garayev`s “Motherland” opera and other works sounded at the concert.
The opening ceremony of the festival will be held on August 1. At the evening, Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra will perform with an extensive musical program under the direction of the People’s Artist, professor Fakhraddin Karimov.
The program will feature People’s Artists of Azerbaijan, famous pianists Ulviyya Hajibayova and Yegana Akhundova.
