Italian and Russian ballet starts to perform in Baku

Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will present P. Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" ballet on October 27.
The ballet dancers of The State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Alena Kovaleva and Italian Jacopo Tissi have been invited to perform in the ballet.
It should be noted that Alena Kovaleva's tour was held with great triumph in England, Italy, France, Japan, China and Holland.
During the season 2014/15, Jacopo Tissi danced with the Vienna State Ballet under the direction of Manuel Legris, in the season 2015/16 he joined La Scala Ballet Company under the direction of Makhar Vaziev, having as repetiteurs Vladimir Derevianko and Olga Chenchikova.
In 2017, he joined the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet Company. His coach at the Bolshoi is Alexander Vetrov.
His first performance at the Bolshoi was in Le Spectre de la rose (opposite Evgenia Obraztsova) in the framework of the gala in honor of Maris Liepa jubilee.
The leading soloists of the ballet troupe - People's Artist of Azerbaijan Gulagasi Mirzoyev, honored artists Samir Samadov, Nigar Ibragimova, Makar Fershtandt, Elmira Suleymanova, Jamil Karimov, Ayan Eyvazova and others will also take part in the performance.
People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor Javanshir Jafarov will conduct the ballet.
"Swan Lake" is a romantic ballet in four acts. The story of the ballet is based on a German fairy tale. It is about a prince named Siegfried. He falls in love with the Swan princess, Odette. She is a swan by day, but a young woman at night. She is under a magic spell that can only be broken by a man who will make a promise to love her for all time. Siegfried makes the promise. He is tricked though by the magician who cast the spell. The ballet ends with the deaths of Siegfried and Odette.
