Kazakh- U.S. ties mulled

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama in The Hague.

The sides discussed the issues related to further strengthening and development of bilateral trade and economic relations, the presidential press service reported.

Nazarbayev pointed out that around 300 joint Kazakh-U.S. enterprises operate in Kazakhstan, saying that this shows the dynamic cooperation in trade and economic sphere.

Moreover the U.S. is one of the largest investors in Kazakhstan's economy, according to Nazarbayev.

The Kazakh president stressed that his country is interested in active participation of the U.S. companies in the industrial-innovative development program.

Also, the parties discussed Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the topical issues of the international agenda.

Obama, in turn, highlighted Kazakhstan's great contribution to the nuclear disarmament issue and stressed that Kazakhstan is an example for all states in this sphere.

Also, Obama thanked for Kazakhstan's contribution to stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan.
