Pozdnyakov third in Tour of Slovakia
Kirill Pozdnyakov has finished third overall in the Tour of
Slovakia. The Russian riding for the Synergy Baku Cycling Project
finished second on the race’s mountainous second stage to move into
third place, and held on to it until the end.
“I am very happy with this result, and would like to thank my
teammates. The good teamwork is what made this possible,”
Pozdnyakov said.
Sunday’s closing stage was a short one, with two climbs, the first
coming almost immediately after the start. With 75 km to go, a
break group formed which stayed away until the end. Pozdnyakov was
safely within the peloton which finished over a minute down.
The team’s next race will be the Tour of Serbia, June 14-19. Matija
