Azerbaijani judoist wins European crown
Junior Azerbaijani female fighter Shahane Hajiyeva (40kg) has won the gold medal of the European Judo Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
She secured the title after beating Romanian Lidia Marini.
Another Azerbaijani fighter Ismayil Ibrahimov scooped the bronze medal of the tournament.
The championships bring together 469 judo fighters from 41 countries, AzerTac state news agency reported.
